Pichi and Avo

A large stack of shipping containers piled high serves as the foundation for this enormous mural created by street artists Pichi & Avo. The Valencia-based art duo developed the project as part of this year's Rock Werchter Music festival in Belgium.

Crayons

Christian Faur is an artist based in Granville, Ohio. Looking for a new technique, he experimented with painting with wax, but he didn't feel the results were satisfactory. Then, at Christmas in 2005, his young daughter opened a box of 120 Crayola crayons he'd bought her, and everything clicked into place. Faur decided he would create pictures out of the crayons themselves, packing thousands of them together so they become like the colored pixels on a TV screen.

Andrew Myers

We're going to guess that you've never seen a shirt quite like this. It's been over two years since we first came across the incredible screw portraits by Andrew Myers. The Laguna Beach-based artist stunned us with his unique works that were made by patiently drilling in 8,000 to 10,000 screws into plywood panel. Myers doesn't rely on any computer software to guide him. Instead, he drills in screws at different depths all by instinct to create his magnificent 3-D portraits.

Tony Orrico

American artist Tony Orrico uses his entire body as an instrument to create massive artworks that are both highly precise and organic, at the same time. Orrico manages to blend his background in dance and choreography with a passion for drawing in a unique process that starts off with dance-like movements and ends with an abstract illustration. Holding a pencil in each hand, the young artist approaches a massive paper canvas, and using the symmetry of the human body to create various abstract..
